Uniform dipping of a Sorbfil plate into developing liquid at a controlled rate and dwell time. An alternative to spraying that gives sharper chromatographic-zone development and a uniform background tint — and therefore the recommended option for quantitative chromatogram calculations.

Description

The unit is designed for substance-composition analysis by uniform dipping of Sorbfil plates into developing liquid. Compared with spraying it gives sharper chromatographic-zone development and a uniform background tint after processing — eliminating the systematic background non-uniformity that confounds densitometric calculation, and therefore the recommended option whenever quantitative chromatogram calculations are involved.

Dipping speed and dwell time are user-adjustable so the operator can match the regime to a specific developer and plate type.
