Automated application of standard and sample solutions onto Sorbfil plates, as lines or points. Up to 24 samples, line length up to 180 mm, 10 μL syringe volume — the narrow band format yields the highest resolution achievable in TLC.

Applications

§ A — DESCRIPTION

Description

Application is performed by spray deposition using compressed air, with the syringe moving back and forth along the application direction. This produces narrow bands which yield the highest resolution achievable in TLC, well above what a hand-loaded capillary can do.

Samples are held in screw-cap vials with silicone septa (2 mL, ø12×32 mm). A heated stage warms the application area locally — particularly valuable for mycotoxin work and other analytes where rapid drying of the deposited droplet is needed to produce a compact spot.
