A budget variant of the Sorbfil densitometer: the plate is placed on the glass of a flatbed scanner, the image is transferred to a computer and processed by Sorbfil TLC View. Daylight-only — no UV — but a way into quantitative TLC for labs where a full light cabinet would be overkill.

§ A — DESCRIPTION

Description

The scanner-based densitometer supports two quantitative calculations from the chromatogram image: percentage composition of a mixture and concentration of an analyte in a sample.

The plate is placed on the scanner glass; the resulting image is transferred to the computer, stored, and processed in Sorbfil TLC View. No change to existing TLC procedures is required, and any Sorbfil plate visible in daylight can be processed.
