§ A — DESCRIPTION

Description

Microcapillaries are the simplest and most common sampling tool in TLC. Capillary action draws the solution in; a light touch to the start line on the plate transfers the droplet onto the sorbent. They are effectively single-use (though the operator can wash and reuse a capillary when working with the same compound) — the price point lets the lab swap capillaries between samples and eliminate cross-contamination.

All capillaries are made of chemically resistant glass and tolerate both dry-heat and chemical sterilisation.
